Just a dude and a camera
I have been photographing stuff ever since I went to Europe my senior year of high school. I took a Vivitar 35mm point and shoot camera and I don’t think I put it down from the time we landed in Germany to the time we left Italy. Sixteen rolls of film and about 20 trips to the local photo shop (long closed) later, I was hooked. I upgraded my camera to a Canon Rebel XS film setup in 2002 and shot with that until I went digital in 2006. While I respect the finality of film, I am so thankful for digital. I believe in using my photos to tell stories and just as an artist will do, I utilize all of the tools at my disposal to craft and form my images to tell my stories.
My current equipment setup consists of a Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 17-40 F2.8L, Canon 70-200 F4.0L, Lee photo filters, a Promote Control multi-function system, Enduro carbon tripod, Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Photoshop 2020 CC. My film setup includes my 5D Mark II, Cowboy Studios DSLR stedicam rig, and my Gopro Hero 7 Black with various mounts. Hopefully I will add to my film equipment as I become more well versed in my film making skills.
My other passions in life are my family, baseball, and fly fishing. My wife Rebekah has been a tireless supporter of me pursuing my photography passion. There have been numerous times where she has encouraged me to keep shooting when I have wanted to quit. She is also a hell of a baker and cook! We are blessed with two boys, Luke and Matthew. They definitely keep us busy with baseball and other things, but we still manage to find time to get out and explore. If I am not photographing, the boys and I are usually at the ballpark playing and I am coaching. I have been fly fishing for over 10 years and I am now teaching my boys to fish as well. It is a challenge at times, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Any other questions, just ask!
